Schomberg, ON
Regional Municipality of York
Associated Engineering
The new Schomberg WPCP was located on the existing site of the facultative lagoons and recirculating sand filters for the Regional Municipality of York. This project was to provide a rated treatment capacity of 2,055m3/day and included the construction of a 215 square meter administrative building, a process building, aeration tanks, a blower building, tertiary filters, and a plant sewer pumping station. The buildings were constructed on piles due to poor bearing capacity of the soil. The main equipment installed as part of this project included emulsion polymer, chemical feed and UV disinfection systems, a standby power diesel engine set, a sludge gravity thickener and a sludge holding tank.
In addition, ASCO was tasked to construct inlet works, including the overflow and diversion lagoons, the inlet and overflow chamber, mechanical and manual bar screens as well as the Vortex grit removal system.
The Administration Building consisted of a control room, a laboratory room, a multi-purpose room, a mechanical/electrical room, washrooms, showers, and lockers.
